A few projects

TAG Nov.png

I am the Editor in Chief of the Geological Society of Australia's quarterly magazine.

TAG is distributed to Earth Scientists Australia wide.

This project at The Conversation tracked the recovery of Australia's plants and animals after the catastrophic 2019-2020 bushfire season.

My colleagues and I won the 2021 Universities Australia Award for Excellence in University Research Reporting.

We were finalists for the 2021 Australian Museum Eureka Prize for Science Journalism

Art Thy Neighbour was a digital magazine I created that profiled local visual artists across Melbourne.  I profiled a new artist each fortnight and held a launch party at the Brunswick Street Gallery in late 2019.

I was the Editor  in Chief of the Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering's print magazine Focus (later named Applied). Focus had a distribution  of about 2,000 people, including all ATSE Fellows, federal parliamentarians, industry leaders and more.

Environmental scientists see flora, fauna and phenomena the rest of us rarely do. In this series I ran at The Conversation, I invited them to share their unique photos from the field.

This series I ran at The Conversation put a spotlight on lesser loved Australian animals under threat to help boost their public profile.

In this series at The Conversation, I asked wildlife experts to dream up hypothetical battles between predators in a fun exercise of science communication.
